Corghi is excited to announce the launch of their latest Heavy Duty Tyre Changer, the HD500. Renowned the world over for innovation, quality, and precision Corghi has recently increased its focus on the heady duty market as the segment continues to grow quickly.
Their latest offering, the HD500 semi-automatic tyre changer, is designed for ease of use and to deliver reliable performance for trucks, buses, and agricultural vehicles.
“Globally, we’re investing heavily to extend our heavy-duty range,” said Andrew Cornwell, General Manager, Corghi Australia. “Moving forward, we are forecasting significant growth in this market, and our goal is to develop a full range of heavy-duty changers, balancers, aligners, and lifting equipment that will become the envy of our competitors.”
The Corghi HD500 Changer can be used on rims with a maximum diameter of 26inchs or 1400mm and has been designed to speed up the mounting and demounting process.
“The position of the tool heads combined with our new control console provides the operator with the ability to change tyres quickly and easily,” Andrew explained. “Tyre technicians can choose to raise the working height by 150mm as required.”
The HD500 also features hydraulic controls, horizontal for tool use and vertical for wheel positioning, making it one of the most user-friendly, heavy-duty tyre changers on the market.
The load-bearing frame has been completely redesigned to increase rigidity and reduce bending when working on particularly heavy wheels. The gear unit has also undergone significant engineering updates that new deliver a wheel rotation speed of 9rpm, which represent an increase of more than 20percent when compared with the previous model.
“The biggest change has been the addition of our top-of-the-range clamping jaws,” Andrew explained. “They offer seven different clamping methods and are supplied with plastic rim support plugs in different thicknesses for perfect rim clamping.”
“A new gear unit, suitable for intensive and heavy-duty use has also been incorporated into this new model,” he added.
